Dr. Lee Foote
The ACA Board of Directors has provided me the privilege of serving as the Academic Representative on the Board. Since 2002 I have helped with conferences (Chronic Wasting Disease Conference; Wildlife Handling Workshops; Conservation Hunting). Since 2003 I have been the Director of the ACA Grants in Biodiversity, and have served as a co-chairman of the ACA Grant Eligible Committee for 4 years. My work with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Utah Department of Fish and Game, US Geological Survey, as a private consultant, and for the last 8 years as an Associate Professor of Conservation Biology at the University of Alberta.
I am married to an environmental sociologist and have two wonderful daughters that love to accompany me and my lab to the goose pits. I thoroughly appreciate the chance to give something back to the renewable resources that have buoyed me up for my whole life and helped make me who I am. I look forward to the next year with new building, Managing Director, and new Program Agreements in place. ACA is truly on a roll!
Just cause it's cold outside...
...doesn't mean you have to stay indoors 24/7. Don't go stir crazy this winter.

Winter Chameleon
White-tailed ptarmigans have cleverly adapted to harsh mountain winters. These cool critters change their colour and bury themselves in powdery snow for insulation. But that's not all...
Did You Know...
In the past year, we planted 6.5 km of shelterbelts to enhance winter survival and escape cover for pheasants and other wildlife. More interesting facts in ACA's Annual Report!
