Total E & P Canada Ltd.
In the fall of 2007, Total E&P Canada Ltd. (TEPC) signed an agreement with ACA to donate funds for the purchase of a 56 ha (140 acres) conservation offset in the boreal natural region of Alberta. This offset has been endorsed by the Pembina Institute and the Oil Sands Environmental Coalition as a terrestrial conservation offset to reduce the overall net terrestrial disturbance of TEPC's SAGD development in the Fort McMurray area. A property located close to Hubert Lake Provincial Wildland Park was identified and purchased in the summer of 2008. As with all ACA-owned properties, this terrestrial offset will be managed for wildlife habitat and is open for public access (foot traffic only).
