Lesser Slave Lake

There’s never a better time for Kids Can Catch than Alberta’s Family Fishing Weekend. Join the Lesser Slave Lake Watershed Council (LSWC) for the Ice Fishing Family Day Event on Saturday, February 15 to give ice fishing a try! Attendees can expect a pancake breakfast at the Joussard Community Hall, followed by a briefing about the LSWC, and a safety and safe fishing handling talk.

Date: February 15, 2025
Time: 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Place: Lesser Slave Lake, Joussard Community Hall, Hamlet of Joussard
Directions: Enter the Hamlet of Joussard, turn left at Jerry’s store (first left), then follow the signs to the hall (which will be just after Jerry’s store) on the left.
Parking: Parking available at the Joussard Community Hall, then on the ice with your own vehicle. Path and parking will be marked out.

  • Fishing rods available to borrow
  • Fishing mentors on hand to help new anglers
  • Information available on fishing and conservation
  • Complimentary lunch, snacks, and beverages available, while supplies last

Fishing licences are not required on the Family Day weekend but Alberta Sportfishing Regulations apply to this event.
