Sturgeon Lake - Hook, Fish and Learn
Join us for a day of ice fishing, learning about lake science and water monitoring, and fun! With pre-drilled holes, loaner fishing rods, and no fishing licences required on Alberta’s Family Fishing Weekend, there’s never a better opportunity to try ice fishing. Learn about our winter lake monitoring program, in partnership with Alberta Lake Monitoring Society and see how you can get involved. A local elder will also be present to share their wisdom on fishing and Sturgeon lake.
Date: February 15, 2025
Time: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Place: Young's Point Provincial Park on Sturgeon Lake (Youngs Pt Rd, Municipal District of Greenview No. 16, AB T0H 0Y0)
Directions: From Hwy 43, drive 10 kilometres northwest on Rge. Rd. 251. Once at the park go past Big Horn loop to go to the day use area
Parking: Parking available at Day Use parking area

Fishing licences are not required on Alberta's Family Fishing Weekend. Alberta Sportfishing Regulations still apply.
