Taber Pheasant Festival
Thank you to all our sponsors and also to all the organizations that worked together to host a very successful event. Participants had a great time sharing knowledge and going out into the field together.
The festival was a joint effort between Alberta Conservation Association, Alberta Hunter Education Instructors’ Association, local Alberta Fish and Game Association clubs, Pheasants Forever Calgary, Upland Birds Alberta, Canadian Pheasant Company, as well as many local businesses and individuals, and was supported by the Taber Chamber of Commerce.
If you wondered what the festival was all about, here’s what some of the attendees are saying.
“Another great day bird hunting — thanks ACA for the fine birds and the opportunity to take out the kids.” – Allen H.
“I thought I should send you some feedback on the ACA sponsored Taber Pheasant Festival. I hunted on Monday and Tuesday at two different sites reserved for me. The sites were excellent in many ways. The cover was superb, the maps and directions to the sites were exceptional, and the hunting experience was both safe and satisfying. In addition to the released pheasants, we saw swans, geese, ducks, deer, sharptail and many more types of wildlife. We found pheasants and now have some wonderful memories that go along with watching a fine bird dog in the field. Please pass along my comments and gratitude to the members of ACA who made this event such a rewarding experience for me and my hunting partners. I am already looking forward to marking next year's event on my fall calendar. Many thanks.” – Bruce M.
"I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work that you, your staff, and supporting groups put into the Taber Pheasant Festival.
I've been living and hunting in this area for over 10 years and I've seen significant declines in both the number of birds, and the habitat areas for bird hunting. It was nice to see firsthand the success that conservation efforts have made in specific regions. My dogs, my family and friends had a great time this season thanks to the land owners that provided access.
I hope this program will continue in the future." – Jassen J.
