Public Surveys
Every three years since 2008, ACA has commissioned a survey to determine support for, and participation in, a variety of outdoor recreational activities ranging from birdwatching and hiking to hunting, fishing, and trapping. The survey results show that public opinion in ACA’s main areas of concern is very positive: “Clearly hunting and fishing are an important part of, not only Alberta’s heritage, but also our modern culture,” states Dr. Todd Zimmerling, President and CEO of ACA and author of the report. “The survey results indicate that these activities are not just rural activities; these are activities that are being undertaken and appreciated by a wide cross-section of Alberta’s population.”
