Slave Lake Kids Can Catch
Schools of children AND fish showed up to this event…literally. Students from a local school caught a lot of fish: the record-holder this year caught 11 fish and all students were taught how to safely catch-and-release. Volunteers were also on hand from the RCMP, Fish and Wildlife, ATCO, the local fire department, Search and Rescue, forest fire crews, and Slave Lake Rod and Gun club.
The kids also tried out the archery range shooting both recurved and compound bows.
Big thanks to Slave Lake Rod and Gun club for putting on this event. Thanks as well to ATCO and Nalco-Champion for lunch, Canadian Tire Slave Lake and AltaLink for making sure there were enough fishing rods, and to all the volunteers who helped throughout the day.
